1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets the rules for content and conduct on BackerCove. It applies to everyone who uses the Service and supplements our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Project eligibility rules also apply to listings.
2. Prohibited content
You may not post, submit, list, or transmit content that:
- Is illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, or misrepresents a campaign or product.
- Infringes intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
- Is hateful, harassing, defamatory, sexually explicit, exploitative, or promotes violence or self-harm.
- Concerns prohibited or heavily regulated goods and services where not permitted (for example, weapons, illegal drugs, or other restricted items), consistent with our eligibility rules.
- Contains malware, or promotes scams, pyramid schemes, or gambling where prohibited.
- Reveals another person's private information without consent.
3. Prohibited conduct
- Impersonating others or misrepresenting your identity or affiliation.
- Spamming, phishing, or sending unsolicited bulk messages.
- Manipulating rankings, badges, reviews, or metrics, or creating fake or multiple accounts to evade limits or bans.
- Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users or our team.
- Interfering with other users' use or enjoyment of the Service.
4. Security & integrity
You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems; probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without authorization; circumvent authentication, rate limits, or access controls; upload malicious code; or disrupt or overload the Service (for example, through denial-of-service techniques). Report suspected vulnerabilities to us rather than exploiting them.
5. Automated access & scraping
You may not use bots, crawlers, scrapers, or other automated means to access, harvest, or copy content or data from the Service except as we expressly permit or as allowed by our published robots.txt. You may not frame, mirror, or resell the Service or its content, or use it to build a competing dataset or product, without our written permission.
6. Enforcement
We enforce this AUP through review, moderation, and technical measures. We may remove or restrict content, suspend or terminate accounts, revoke Discord access, and report unlawful activity to authorities. We may act without prior notice where necessary to protect the Service, its users, or third parties. Enforcement is at our reasonable discretion and consistent with our Terms and applicable law.
